If you would like your child/a child you work with to be registered as a Young Carer with Devon Young Carers and show on the Young Carers Register, please complete the link below.

They will be registered at Getting Advice and can access the following from Devon Young Carers: 

• Information, Advice, and Signposting for their caring role
• Young Carers ID card
• Young Carers transition assessment before they turn 18
• Young Carers register shared with education settings
• Be part of the Young Carers Movement Group – held online, every 3 months - for secondary school-aged Young Carers
• Access to Holiday and Food Programme (HAF) as a Young Carer Information for parents and carers – Education and Families (please read the extended criteria terms)

Devon Young Carers are commissioned by Devon County Council to provide specialist support for Young Carers who are providing high levels of care, or care that is not age-appropriate.

If a Young Carer’s role includes tasks such as:

• Personal care (e.g. bathing or toileting)
• Strenuous physical tasks (e.g. lifting)
• Administering medication
• Maintaining the family budget
• End-of-life care
• Providing emotional support to an adult

We will hold your information as a requirement of the Children and Families Act ‘14/ Care Act ’14. We will share your information with other bodies or organisations employed to meet your support needs as specified within Devon’s Early Help Sharing Agreement. However, in line with Devon County Council’s Citizen Partnership, we will look to engage you with all decision-making.
