About my role at Westbank

I am delighted to have joined Westbank as a Trustee. What particularly drew me to the organisation is its clear commitment to practical, community-based support and the very visible difference it makes to people across Exeter and Devon. Since first meeting members of the team and learning more about Westbank’s work, I have been hugely impressed by both the breadth of its services and the energy and warmth of the organisation. I am very much looking forward to contributing as part of the Board and supporting Westbank’s continued development.

My stand out career moments

A key career milestone for me has been becoming a Senior Associate at Michelmores and building my practice in my hometown of Exeter, in an area of law that I find genuinely interesting and varied. I specialise in employment law and one of the most satisfying parts of my role is the range of people and organisations I support - from individuals, to public sector organisations, to private companies - which makes for a diverse and rewarding mix

My values

The values that matter most to me are integrity, kindness and fairness - and being down to earth and honest in how I work with people. I also place a lot of importance on collaboration, in the practical sense: taking time to understand what matters to others, communicating clearly, and working together to find sensible solutions rather than creating unnecessary complexity. I find that the best outcomes usually come from strong relationships, a calm approach, and a focus on what will work in practice.

Personal interests

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two young sons and my wife especially exploring the fantastic Devon Countryside. I am really interested in nature and the protection and maintenance of natural environments - particularly birds and local wildlife. I also love history and anything connected with it. I am musical and I play the guitar and enjoy writing my own music.
