As Project Lead for Westbank's county wide programme of Health Walks, I am leading the way during 'Walk for Westbank', our week of sponsored walking, taking place from 1st to 5th September 2025 and visiting all the locations across Exeter and Mid Devon where we have a Health Walk, covering nearly 100 miles across the 5 days.
John Powell and the team are heading to the Himalayas to take on an epic challenge: hiking to Everest Base Camp and continuing on to climb Island Peak, a serious adventure at over 6,000m!

I wanted to make a direct impact closer to home. The money raised will go towards supporting the incredible Exercise Referral programme at Westbank’s Healthy Living Centre. This programme helps people living with a wide range of conditions—including cancer, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and heart-related illnesses—by providing vital support such as transport and specialist equipment.
Westbank’s Health Walk Project is fully funded by Westbank Community Health and Care. We couldn’t think of a more fitting occasion than Devon Day on Thursday 4th June 2026 to celebrate one of Devon’s longest-serving community charities as it marks its 40th anniversary
